[Library Events & Programs] "America's Music" Documentary Series
The
Memphis Public Library is one of 50 libraries/organizations in the country, and
one of the two recipients in the state of Tennessee that will present a six-part documentary series, America's Music: A Film History of Our Popular Music From Blues to Bluegrass to Broadway. Library's America's Music Webpage
Each
of these six program sessions will feature a documentary screening, a scholar-led
discussion, and free live performances of 20th century American popular
music.
Dr.
Jack T. Cooper, Associate Professor and Director of Jazz Studies and Studio Music
at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music of the University of Memphis will lead each discussion.
