[Book Review] SWALLOWING DARKNESS by Laurell K. Hamilton

Fiction/Fantasy

Beth reviews SWALLOWING DARKNESS by Laurell K. Hamilton (Ballantine Books, 2008)

Another great book (no. 7) from Laurell K. Hamilton in her Meredith Gentry series! Meredith, or Merrie for short, is a princess of faerie and is fighting for her throne. Her aunt, the Queen of Shadow and Darkness, has promised the throne to either her son, Prince Cel, or to Meredith. The winner will be the one to have a child first. And now Merrie is with child. Twins in fact. Her uncle, King Taranis of Light and Illusion, kidnapped Merrie and raped her. Now he claims the children are his. But to be queen, Merrie must survive the next 8 months and protect her future king(s).

If you haven’t enjoyed this series and enjoy tales of faerie, I suggest starting with Book 1. Click here to read my review of Book 6.
