THE MEMPHIS READS QUESTION

Have you ever read a book and found yourself casting the roles as you read? Maybe you find yourself hoping that the book will make the transformation to film someday. For this month's Memphis Reads Question, please tell us:

What books have you read that should be movies but aren't?

Comments:
Mudbound by Hillary Jordan! Bill Pullman as Henry, Laura Linney as Laura, and Brad Pitt as Jamie. I gave a booktalk on Mudbound and one of the audience members kept referring to Ronsel(sp) as Denzel Washington. :D

My favorite book, Mila 18, by Leon Uris. There have been rumors for years that it will be a movie, even that it is Harvey Weinstein's pet project... But, it still hasn't been made. Someday...

After just reading and reviewing Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger, I'd love to see it as a movie! Gywneth Paltrow as Leigh, Giselle (the supermodel)as Adriana, and Sarah Jessica Parker as Emmy. Maybe...?!

The Host by Stephenie Meyer.

I would love to Ivy's Twisted Vine by Latrivia Nelson as a movie. When I read it, it did feel like I was reading a script. The characters reminded me of Bad Boys meets As the World Turns.
