[News and Notes] December 31, 2012

NPR's Best Books of 2012  page also features "10 Books to Help You Recover from a Tense 2012"  and "Backseat Reads" for young readers.

Also noted is Publisher's Weekly Best Books of 2012 with links from previous years.

Rare bookseller AbeBooks released their Most Expensive Sales of 2012. An autographed first edition of Ian Fleming's Casino Royale sold for $46,453.

All locations of the Memphis Public Library & Information Center will be closed Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in observance of New Year’s Day.

Customers have the option of reserving or renewing books by going to memphislibrary.org or calling 452-2047.  The Library’s website also offers several resources customers can use anytime—24 hours a day—seven days a week.  

Tattoos Inspired by Children's Literature has made it's rounds on the web for a while but how did I miss Mental Floss' 11 Amazing Librarian Tattoos?
