[Awards] Hemingway/PEN Award and Man Asian Literary Prize

Open City by Teju Cole is the 2012 winner of the PEN/Hemingway Foundation Award.

South Korean author Kyung-sook Shin has become the first woman to win the Man Asian Literary Prize for her novelPlease Look After Mom. The award is "given to the best novel by an Asian writer, either written in English or translated into English, and published in the previous calendar year." Shin also won $30,000.
